That't not true. Someday someone who is a fan of that zombie fandom will look for fic to read and trust me, they will cherish every single fic available. They might not leave comments or kudos, but they will appreciate your work.

Definitely. And they might not be looking for new stuff right now because they don't expect it, but I've looked at old fandoms on a whim and been pleasantly surprised and happy that someone created new fic.
