Ia. I grew up not knowing asexuality was a thing and for so long thought there was something wrong with me and I just needed to push myself, try harder to see and feel like everybody else. It's not only offensive but also hurtful to have people invalidate the identity I fought to figure out and find peace in by insisting I'll change my mind with time/for the right person (and has happened too many times for me to be able to shrug it off as an isolated incident).

I don't care whether OP actually thinks this or is trolling and just erases others' identities for fun. Either way OP is poison and I hope they have a hangnail and step on two legos a day until they become a better person.

I too am offended by this completely harmless joke on a fandom group. >:(

I'm also ace, and I did have a bit of a "kay but that's not how it works" reaction to this secret, at first. But I don't think OP actually believes that is how it works, in real life.

I think this is one of those things that's just meant to be an amusing idea, and is not worth reading into or getting defensive over. Not saying you can't be defensive over it. Just, imo, it's not worth it.

+1

I too am asexual. I fully accept the headcanon and get a huge kick out of it. I am also low key sexually attracted to bearded steve rogers. He is the exception to every rule.

Same same :-)

Yeah no go fuck yourself. A lesbian is not going to be attracted to a guy. Take your headcanon and shove it where the sun don't shine. I'm sick of my sexuality being invalidated.

DA
You are joking, right?

(Anonymous) 2019-04-15 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
why would anon be joking? society is so heterosexual minded that if people keep saying that lesbians can be attracted to guys then straight people will flat out dismiss lesbians' same sex attraction by saying that they should all stop move on from their ~lesbian phase~ because obviously they're attracted to guys deep down! because it's in a woman's nature to be attracted to a man! blah blah bullshitty blah

(Anonymous) 2019-04-15 07:00 am (UTC)(link)
Uhh... because this entire secret is just for fun? And the anon they're responding to is completely innocent to all that's being accused of them? Because maybe they're overreacting in way that makes them seem sarcastic?
I mean, no offense, but literally nobody is saying lesbianism/any sexuality is 'just a phase' or are they trying to dismiss anything. I get why people are upset I guess, I'm asexual myself, but it seems to me that a lot of people are vying for an argument that just isn't here nor there...
