Well, one running theme of Parks and Recreation was Leslie's crush on former US senator, Vice President, and likely candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination Joe Biden. Biden has drawn criticism in recent weeks for (among other things) his long history of close physical interactions with women politicians in professional settings, which some have argued is unprofessional and improper, and which has made some (but not all) women involved feel uncomfortable. Biden has spoken of his desire to change his behavior, but also joked about the idea that some people might feel uncomfortable around him at rallies in a way many people find disrespectful. Presumably, OP feels that there's a gap between Biden's conduct and Leslie's avowed morals. Although presumably you would also expect Leslie to have cared about things like the Anita Hill hearings, but that's as may be.

Anyway, hope that helped!

Very helpful actually! Still not too sure what to say about the secret, but the context does help;;
