Lashing out ONCE is understandable, but Luthor "lashed out" at Pogo every chance he got. Like when Allison was injured; Luthor made sure Pogo knew he hated him and didn't trust him. That's not just lashing out, that's legit animosity that Luthor had no intention of letting go of any time soon. He didn't even seem to care when Pogo died.

lbr luthor only cares about allison, anyone else could die/get hurt and it wouldn't even register to him.

Uh...I think this is the kind of thing that only sounds reasonable if you have a serious gate owner for Luther. If you don't, it just kind of sounds a bit nuts.

Well, I can't think of anyone Luthor went out of his way to show affection toward except Allison.

He idolized their dad, and I think he at least respected Pogo, but I never got the sense he cared if the rest of his family vanished from the face of the Earth.

... compared to how affectionate the rest of the siblings were to one another? I don't know. I'm not saying Luther was better. I'm just puzzled as to where the vitriol is coming from because he seems pretty comparable to the rest of the Academy kids when we're talking about dysfunction.

I'm not going to say the rest were overflowing with love and affection for each other, but I saw some genuine caring.

Diego seemed to really care about Grace, he got along with Allison and also respected Pogo. He also seemed to have a soft spot for Klaus, even though it seemed grudging.

Allison at least tried to get along with the others, probably because she hit rock bottom after losing custody of her daughter and was forced to do a lot of re-evaluating of her life and what really mattered, like family.

Klaus's drug addiction makes his feelings harder to quantify, but I think underneath the addiction he wanted to be a better brother.

Vanya is a mess. Just a mess, and I don't even know where to start. But I think she despretely wanted to be a family.

But Luthor? Luthor believed any one of them, except Allison, could have killed their father. He tried to use his super strength to seriously hurt Diego knowing full well he might kill him, because Luthor had to be in charge and Diego was resisting. When Klaus was missing Luther all but shrugged and went about not giving a single solitary shit. He considered Grace nothing but a machine. He un-personed Vanya the second she hurt Allison, and didn't hesitate coming up with a plan to kill her after she became White Violin.

None of them are perfect, but Allison, Klaus, Diego and Vanya know it and try to grow and be better to one another.
