the others, however, are perfect victims with no fleas at all

why do you even watch morally complicated shows

Liking a morally complicated show for being morally complicated doesn't mean you can't be annoyed when someone's being a dick.

AYRT

The others are all messed up and frequently obnoxious
They do the wrong things, don't communicate, contribute to things going wrong
Luthor is the only one who locks anyone in solitary confinement until they go mad

But I guess that's just ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* Moral Complexity *:・゚✧*:・゚✧

I mean. You could also say "Allison's the only one who uses her powers to strip her sibling of her identity and wreck her self-esteem and entire life". Or "Vanya is the only one who slits her sister's throat during an argument". Or "Klaus is the only one whose drag habits drive him to steal from his own family". Or "Five is the only one who becomes a highly successful assassin".

✧・゚: *✧・゚:* Moral Complexity *:・゚✧*:・゚✧

And yet, Luther seems to receive a disproportionate amount of hate.

1) Allison was used, as a five-year-old, to do something terrible to her sister. She doesn't stand around as an adult and go, "But Dad told me to so that's okay".
2) Vanya hurts Allison while in the middle of a breakdown, apologised, and tried to make it right.
3) Klaus is an addict, driven into addiction by shitty, shitty powers. Also I only noticed him steal from his dead abusive dad, but I might have missed something.
4) Five lived alone in a postapocalypic hellscape for decades and I don't blame him one little bit for what he did to get out of it.

You can be as much of a Luthor stan as you want, but don't be a dipshit.

Personally I think Allison using her powers on her own kid because she can't handle "no" is the most fucked up abusive thing any of the kids do in the show.

And yeah, we only see her in the aftermath when she's remorseful, and I love Allison, but wow. And she only stopped because she was caught and lost custody. I'm not saying there's a perfect equivalency between all the siblings' fuckups, but Luthor is not the only one perpetuating cycles of abuse.

But Allison is pretty and sad, like a good victim.

Same! I love her and she's trying really hard to be better, but that was HORRIFYING.

FWIW though, we DO see her trying to do better, so we at least know she's sorry (even though sorry is definitely not enough to cover what she did, holy shit), whereas Luther doesn't even seem to be aware of what he's doing, and when he's actively affecting the other main characters/plot, it's much more in-your-face and hard to gloss over
