You should follow suit and demand answers for why no second steroid shot. If there's a logical medical reason for why you can't have it, then you deserve to hear it. And if he pushes hard, then he needs to have a damn good answer for why the negative side effects aren't an issue, or why it's so important to try THIS antidepressant instead of finding something else that doesn't make you feel suicidal.

Pain management doctors tend to be rather cynical, IMO. It's because they see a lot of people abusing the system, and they're extra wary and not always the most empathetic despite their role. Unfortunately, it means patients have to do a lot more advocating for themselves, and they can't get upset or pushy while doing so because it looks like drug-seeking behavior to a medical professional.

Okay, thanks for the advice. At this point, I leave for Mexico on Sunday. But I'll set up my first PT appointment for when I get back, talk with them and see what they think. And then if I need to I'll set up another appointment with the pain doctor.
