With something like, say, the Daniel Craig James Bond films, really unrealistic, OTT, just-for-show stuff stands out more, because the films are trying to be a little more realistic - or at least pass for realistic.
But in something like Star Wars, which is fantastical by design, and involves ~space magic~, I'm a lot more willing to just go with it. If it looks cool and keeps me engaged, I'm down.
