I don't know why you would feel like a bad person. I've seen this sentiment expressed by other Ares/Xena fans before but there's no need to apologize for the couple. Regardless of any ship's content, it's fiction all the same.

Besides, Ares is the Xena/Hercules universe's bicycle - everyone looks good on top and below him. He is fantastic in that way.

I know exactly what you mean. I love Xena/Gabrielle and their relationship was so important as a prominent gay tv couple, but I do really love the dynamic between Xena and Ares. Their characters (and actors) just had such fabulous chemistry.

Dynamic. Yes, because their importance of their relationship doesn't just come from a sexual and/or romantic place. It's deeply interesting in addition to them looking really hot together.

Met the actor who played Ares back in 1999. He was a truly lovely person. So sad when he died a few years later. :(

Yes, I know that has nothing to do with the secret, but... nice to share with people who'd actually know who he was! Otherwise, I have to qualify it somehow. "No, not the Clerks guy."

Yeah, his death still bothers me even after all these years. Kevin Smith was a very talented actor and seemed like a cool guy all around based on his interviews.

I mean, it's Ancient Greece - sky's the limit. I don't think it takes away from the main pairing. It's an interesting dynamic.
