I've found that when I try to reveal my power level to somebody who likes the same things I do, I get a little too passionate and come off as sounding like a massive weirdo. I've been lucky that nobody's reacted negatively, but it still makes me nervous and I just keep it under wraps unless I'm at a con or meeting someone who also likes the same stuff I do.

I hide the fuck out of my power level too. Unfortunately, when it's time to discuss fandom things, people just assume I don't care about the thing I'm secretly going RUIP3JR;FJDKLSJFUWRJKLSDJFD;SJF;LDSJFKAWAIIDESU~~~~~K;LDJKF about. I feel like a jerk, both for not advertising and for wondering if the ones who are openly squeeing genuinely like something or are just all about the current fad (see?).
