Now I’m wondering how many/if any authors tag their fic as “woobie” on AO3. I bet there’s at least a few who are self-aware and willing to advertise.

Have you tried searching "[Character] Needs A Hug"? The "Needs A Hug" tag isn't necessarily going to get you a woobified character, but it definitely raises your odds, especially if the character in question is a bad guy canonically.

Tags like "smol" "[Character] Redemption" and "[Character] Has Feelings" also increase your likelihood of getting a woobified character.
