Femslash pairings

Secret #7 has me wondering, do you have any femslash ships where sexual or romantic roles are hard set in your mind?

Probably Missy/Clara, but that's it.

See, I think Missy/Clara is a good example of how I don't have a strong preference about this. Sure, having Missy be more dominant is the obvious interpretation based on the series. And it's great. It's wonderful. It's fantastic stuff. But if you imagine a role reversal situation with Clara getting the upper hand somehow, perhaps through trickery or seduction, that would also be fantastic.

Nah. But then I don't have that with slash pairings either. I don't really have any proper 'canon' 'fem!slash pairings' anyway so how they are written and who with kind of controls how things like fic play out to me. I am such an easy shipper. You can convince me of anything with enough backstory tbh.

Legend of the Seeker. Kahlan/Cara. I ship Kahlan with everyone, actually. And she's always the boss.

I can see Kahlan always being the dominant one with Richard. I can't see it with Cara. I don't see Cara being always dominant in that relationship either, though. I see it as equals with give and take. Why do you think Kahlan would always be dominant to Cara, given what we were shown of their relationships with others and each other?

Honestly it is just a matter of preference. I just prefer reading Kahlan being in charge. But also, I think that at least at first Cara would be more comfortable giving up control. A lesbian relationship wouldn't be new for Cara. Nor would the idea of roles. This would all be new to Kahlan. And plus, Kahlan's been taught to sacrifice herself for the good of others. She's been taught that all that matters is duty. So I actually think being in charge would be a way for her to relax more and be more comfortable with sex. Be focused on the pleasure of Cara while at the same time getting what she needs.

I don't have rigid sex-roles for any of my ships tbh because I like variety so I'm basically good with anything so long as it's written in a way I like.

I'll get bored if the fandom decides that one-half of the ship is the designated bottom/more submissive one, but I don't have a set preference myself.

I generally like to switch things up in all my ships, but sometimes I have a character who I just think "this is a femdom" and she will always top/dom her partner. One of my current fandoms is BNHA and every Yaoyorozu ship be it f/f or m/f has her domming her partner

Not where the roles are hardset (and personally as a lesbian my relationships have never felt to have a top/bottom dynamic, though I think of dom/sub being different than topping/bottoming so I’m not counting that)and any preferences I do have are completely based on how hot I find a character topping to be
