They can get justice by seeing the people who forced him to do what he did punished. Because those people are the ones responsible, not Bucky.

How is it stanning to say that Bucky was brainwashed and not responsible? I honestly don't see any other way to interpret canon.

And I don't personally think Tony's reactions are that reasonable. A bit of it, yes, in the heat of the moment. But Tony knew well that Bucky was brainwashed and forced to do it. He knew well where the blame actually was with. A bit of his reaction was to be expected, but he went too far. I don't think that makes him evil. He's sympathetic to me too. And I actually think Steve should have been a bit more understanding towards Tony, so I don't think Steve is totally blameless. Only Bucky is blameless.

The canon of Civil War put me on Team Zemo. The build up to the CIVILIAN AIRPORT battle really can't be explained except as marketing dogshit, and in the process, everyone in the script except for Zemo and T'Challa end up looking like the stupid, arrogant, and dangerous villains Zemo claims them to be.

MCU desperately needs Star Trek's willingness to treat the worst canon quackery lightly.

And the lengths canon goes to make Steve the Justified Forever Golden Boy means nothing? Like. That's what I'm sick of.

Also listen. Bucky's not an object. He's not a gun that you fire. He's still a person and tbh I find the "BUT HE WAS BRAINWASHED" bullshit to be just that. It exists solely to keep using him over and over in extremely contrived ways because they know that people are going to watch it. Winter Soldier should have stayed with Winter Soldier.

...dude, the Winter Soldier was ABSOLUTELY a gun that Hydra fired. Bucky is obviously a person, but a person who had zero agency/choice/control for several decades of his life. You can think it's a stupid plot all you want but it doesn't make any of it his fault.

Also jfc nobody in this thread is defending Steve. No one even mentioned Steve except you. Hating Tony =/= glorifying Steve; we just don't fucking like Tony. Calm down.

If you think Bucky had any blame or responsibility I'm honestly not sure what to say. He was a gun. He was brainwashed. He was forced. That has nothing to do with Steve or Tony. Bucky is the only one who was blameless.
