IMO, Miranda felt very much as if the writers went "oh no we killed off the hot blonde in season one who was a natural third point in the potential love triangle, now we have to replace her with another blonde who literally just turns up out of nowhere". It just felt like she was abruptly dropped into the show for the no homo and the female nudity.
