I meant mostly that making characters gay/trans/whatever as a side point, (aka something not originally intended/shown, via the HP books/movies and the Overwatch game) since I had no idea about the Overwatch comics at the time I made this comment, is something I figured both J.K. and Overwatch had in common.
I'm not sure what you mean by this exactly, and I know I'm very good at explaining myself... but mostly I figured they both added 'controversial' identities as a means to garner attention and keep people from losing interest in their respective franchises.

My problem is not at all with Dumbledore being gay! My problem is that his gayness is mostly depicted outside of any part of the canon. You can point to a few highly ambiguous things that can be read as hinting at it, but that's really as far as it goes. I think it would be better if it was part of the actual work. And Overwatch made the gay characters part of the actual text so it doesn't have that issue for me.

Sorry, I wasn't really sure what you meant, or imply that was what you had problems with;; I agree there should have been more context with Dumbledore, though I suppose there's still time for that to happen? But I'm still out of the loop on the Overwatch side of things, so I don't have much to say there;;

So you.... made a secret about something you had no idea about? And complained about the lack of characterization when you... aren't familiar... with the piece of media?

ok

Nayrt

They actually originally made it as a comment in a thread about strong opinions you have about fandoms you're not in and then someone else turned it into a secret
