And yes, there's absolutely some Tony fans who claim the moral high ground like some Steve fans who claim the moral high ground.
This is not some unique problem for fans of these characters and these characters only.
There are some villain/antagonist fans who try to claim they have the moral high ground because those characters are usually given good points to heighten the drama of the story. AKA 'Magneto is right'.
Some people really want their fave to be beyond reproach and who the character is doesn't actually matter, although characters positioned as heroes by the canon definitely get the higher proportion.
