Sorry, but I'm debunking your "secret" (honestly, this isn't one).

I've loved Rolo since day one.
I knew he was going to die, but loved him anyway.
I pitied how utterly insane he was, and how he really only wanted to be loved by his "brother" who wanted nothing more than to kill him.

TL;DR - I cared about Rolo before he died, and I care about him now.

I also think you're a shallow person for basing what you think of someone by which fictional characters they like. Fail anon is fail.
