I try to remember it doesn't matter what they think. It's for my enjoyment. Not theirs.

Which is why you upload it to the internet for all to read, right?

Of course! No one's ever thought, "Hey, I like this. Maybe other people will enjoy it too."

No one's ever got any enjoyment out of sharing something they've created for everyone to see.

I mean, there's absolutely no reason other than, "I'm creating this purely for other people to enjoy." for someone to upload something they've made to the internet for all to see.

I don't know about you, but personally, when I write, I write for my enjoyment. I love writing, and have to love the story/ficlet/drabble/wtfever I write or I'll have no fun writing it, and therefore it uh. Doesn't get written. I write what I want to write, and have fun with it, and love it. And then share it with other people because if there's a chance that they get enjoyment out of it too, why shouldn't I share it? And if they don't, no harm done.

Put another way: If I write for myself and it makes me happy, I want to share it in case it makes other people happy too. If I write purely for other people and don't enjoy what I'm doing, it's going to end up sucking if it gets finished at all. And if other people decide that they should be able to dictate what I write, ignoring what I want to write, then they fail.
