Lol, OP, last night I texted a friend "I want a 2012 fic where they all completely implausibly live in a tower together and Thor is always calling people silly names and eating snacks and Tony gives everyone their own floor to live on (aLways) and Steve is excited about iPads and Clint and Natasha are always getting into shenanigans and Bruce has a Lab and Loki pops in and out whenever." It was a weird and at times tiresome era but it's got its charms!

We were returning from Endgame and VERY deep in our feelings. Even without that, though, it's still, like, a really strangely specific set of tropes.

I still love those sets of tropes. I wish I could figure out what specific tags to search to find me that kind of thing.

When I was very young I thought all bands lived together in a Band House. Like in Help! I think those MCU Tony's Tower fics appeal to me in the same way.

Do you think I'll still enjoy it if I know what happens with some of the characters?

People seem to make fun of it now, but wasn't it nice to have a time in fandom where everyone was thinking about a group of different people coming together and getting along and being nice?

*thinks of all the people on here I've seen who are really bitter about fluffy, cute fic and talk about how awful it is*

It really was. And “a group of different people coming together and getting along” while fighting bad guys/saving the world/generally stopping bad shit from happening is what I like about superhero teams. (They don’t even have to like each other! So long as they like beating up villains more than they disapprove of each other.) I can’t tell you how utterly disappointed I was when the MCU leaned hard into the interpersonal strife-laden drama of the later phases of their story arcs, :(

YES PLEASE!!

I love found-family and team fic, and I don't care if it's 'plausible' or not. Just add Bucky for sheer perfection (and Pietro, too).

I loved this era of the fandom and will never apologise for it! It could be done so badly but some people did it so well that it made up for the OOC stuff.

And they did movie nights where everybody got drunk and talked about their feelings.
