Nah. Dumbledore's reveal wasn't great, but consider how many major characters in children's media were gay 12 years ago.

It's a good point, and she's really made up for it by making sure that he's depicted as textually, unquestionably gay in the movies made more recently in a different political and social climate

There were articles about how Dumbledore wouldn't be explicitly gay in the movies. A homophobic ass can watch Crimes of Grindlewald and come away thinking that Dumbledore isn't gay.
