Maybe he gets more hate in the fandom (though I don't think so). But in the movies, he's the favorite. He's the one who always takes over the story. Everyone's story. He's always front and center. He always gets the most characterization. He always gets the most story. So fans of other characters have reason to be frustrated and annoyed with him.

I think he gets more hate, but he also definitely gets more love, too.

But in the movies, he's the favorite.

This is true. The MCU loves Tony, I won't argue that.

He's the one who always takes over the story. Everyone's story. He's always front and center.

Lots of people say this, but IMO it's not nearly that ubiquitous. The first Avengers movie felt pretty balanced to me. I don't feel he took over Age of Ultron, but I'll concede that he drew focus the most of all the characters in that one. And yes, CW was as much his movie as it was Cap's movie, so that one I'll agree to, since it was supposed to be Cap's movie. But those are the only two MCU movies I can think of where he somewhat "took over" a movie that wasn't his movie.

Beyond that, I understand being frustrated with the writers for giving Tony more focus, but I don't really understand being frustrated with him for it.

He played a major role in Spiderman Homecoming (being the driving force for both Peter AND Vulture).
