Well, faith isn't perfect and lots of people want to prove their beliefs to others.

ask all the "scientists" who've done their best to prove that the Hebrews really did live in Egypt, that Noah's Ark is real and resting on Mount Ararat, that some dude named Jesus was born in Nazareth and went on to become a prophet, that every artifact in every Catholic church really is a chunk of a cross or a crown from BCE, and that dinosaurs lived with humans via carbon-dating, archaeology, linguistics, and other verifiable sciences. all they've done in pursuit of proving their faith is proving that it isn't true.

At least some of those people have the excuse that the lack of evidence wasn't established until they went out and established it...

Why is "scientists" in scare quotes? If it weren't for their findings, we still wouldn't know if these things were real or not.
