I wanted to go to a Renfaire next weekend with a friend I haven't seen in a long while. Costumes and all. And my mother thought it was a great idea to get someone to clean our windows (something we can't do well ourselves because of where some of those windows are located) at the exact day and time I wanted to meet up with my friend at home to get dressed up and drive over to the fair. Now I have to see when I'll be able to actually do all the dressing up because that window cleaning person is super unreliable when it comes to the time he arrives and I really don't want to get dressed up/change clothes while a stranger is walking all over the house. And I'm a bit pissed because my mother knew all about my plans but chose to ignore it.

Could you change the time/date of the window cleaning? Or could you get changed at your friend's place or somewhere else maybe?

Unfortunately, no to both. The cleaning guy is someone who calls to ask if you need him when he's in the area which is only every few weeks and my mother wants it done now and not any later. Time wise, it's sketchy anyway. Depending on his schedule, he can appear +/- 2 hours from the time he said he'd come so that sucks.
And my friend lives quite a distance away in the opposite direction to the fair with my home being kind of the halfway point. I think I'll manage somehow but it's still really inconvient (I hate it when I can't plan properly) and kind of inconsiderate of my mother, tbh.

... how is it inconsiderate? She's not saying you can't go or stopping you from going. If the cleaning guy comes, just tell him you're going to be using one particular room for a while so he can clean those windows later once you leave.

That's what I was thinking.

Heck, depending on what one is wearing, it's totally possible to change in the faire parking lot (ask me how I know) without flashing anybody.

Yeah, OP is coming across as more than a little childish and spoiled here. It is, presumably, their mother's house, and their mother has the right to schedule maintenance on a schedule that is the most convenient for her. Besides, maintenance people understand that you need to do stuff in the house around them and do their best to get in the way as little as possible. I'm sure the guy would understand that OP and their friend wanted to get dressed and would stay away from that room while they were doing so.
