Aren't these characters supposed to be like 12 year olds?

No? They age over the course of the comic, and Dirk (the one with the sunglasses) is 16 when he's introduced. During the epilogue they're in their 20s and age up into their 40s.

I don’t really intend to read it since I haven’t homestucked in YEARS, but OP, can you tell me if they settled the whole Jade/Dave/Karkat thing? Are they still a semi-threesome, did they split into one pairing or another, or did they call it all off?

OP: Jade/Dave/Karkat isn't a thing and imho was handled oddly. There were two storylines, in one Jade wanted to hook up with both of them but instead her body was taken over by a godtier Calliope and meanwhile DaveKat happened. In the other, Jade basically bullied DaveKat into a triad relationship neither of them were happy with and then Karkat left after a few years and Dave was miserably married to her or s/t.
