Re: How do you find friends as an adult?
(Anonymous) 2019-05-04 05:21 am (UTC)(link)I think the easiest way is probably to check out various social meet-ups in your area. Just any kind of group activity you're at all interested it. The down side is, you may still struggle to turn "group" friends into friends you hang out with outside the group. However, it's a start. (I realize this is a lot easier for people who live in bigger cities, but I think smaller cities still probably have a few group meet-ups to pick from.)
Beyond that, I...don't really know. I think insecurity holds a lot of us back from making more friends, tbh. Feeling like we're not desirable as "friends material" and like if we ask someone if they want to hang out with us they won't really want to and will feel uncomfortable. That's definitely something I struggle with, and I don't really have any advice for other people struggling with it, except to take any opportunities you are given to hang out with people, and to make sure those people know you'd be up for hanging out again (presuming you do end up liking them), and that they have whatever contact information you're comfortable with giving them.
