I've only watched this once or twice, whereas I've lost count of the amount of times I've seen the other two (probably not helped by ITV2 showing them on endless repeat for all eternity.)

I remember it was ok but...it just didn't feel like the same film series somehow.

I watched this one exactly once. I'm not enough of a completist to force myself to suffer through it again.

I haven't even been able to make myself watch this one yet. I'm sure I will eventually. :/

I have never watched this one, to be honest. I forgot it even exists, lol.

I wanted to like this film so much because I love Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh (and obviously Brendan Fraser), but it really did not work well. I really like Maria Bello but yeah she is no Rachel Weisz.

Hard same OP, the setting and villain+hero are fantastic and the best parts of the movie, but trying to make it fit within the Mummy-verse just doesn't work imo. It's too disjointed from the first two to really gel properly.

Also how on earth did they make Alex less likable as an adult? It truly boggles my mind.

agreed

I watched it at the height of my Jet Li fan phase but I... can't actually remember a single thing about it.

Yeah, this felt like a completely different movie from the other two. Imo it took itself more seriously than the other two and that was its downfall.

Also on the one hand, I'm not happy with the change of actress for Evee (they are both fantastic, don't get me wrong) but on the other hand I'm glad they didn't kill her off so at least there's that.

That said: The Mummy 4 with grampa Brendan Fraiser when?

(Anonymous) 2019-05-04 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Agree, agree, agree!

Why on earth would you ever recast Evie??!?

(Anonymous) 2019-05-04 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
IIRC it was because Rachel Weisz either couldn't or wouldn't do it.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-05 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
NAYRT but maybe she saw the script lol

It's actually what happened:

I pretend this movie doesn't exist in regards to the first two.
