-Bong Joon-ho. If you want an easy first movie of his that is mostly in English, Snowpiercer or Okja. Both are on Netflix.

If you want a monster movie, The Host. It is on Hulu.

If you want a slower drama, Mother is fantastic. It is on Netflix.

-Steve McQueen is another director I love. I'd highly recommend 12 Years A Slave. It isn't streaming anywhere unless you rent it.
