So holy shit Jaime and Brienne happened and then quickly unhappened but ?? was it just so Jaime could leave without her following him or is he really that much of a jerk. Who knows.

Can we talk about Jon not even giving Ghost a proper goodbye? Fuck you Jon!

I assume Jaime leaving had to do with the former.
First, he needed put his demons to rest (including making Cersei answer to what she's done).
Second... "The things I do for love..." This time, for Brienne's sake. Cersei had that "I'm onto you" look during that awkward exchanging of glances between her, Jaime, and Brienne at the last episode of season 7. Plus, she's known Brienne's in love with Jaime since the Purple Wedding. If she was sure Jaime reciprocated... well, knowing how vindictive Cersei is, Jaime was likely trying to protect Brienne.

He's not the man he used to be. I believe he said something to this effect earlier in the season, so I think claiming to be hateful was definitely his way of keeping Brienne from following. Which I'm almost 100% positive is going to backfire on him. (Oh, let me dream...)

Sounds like something Jaime would do. Still overestimating how much Cersei cares about him, IMO. I'm not saying she wouldn't get around to killing Brienne just for doing the do with him, but she's got other shit going on right now. She's busy pretending to be Euron's babymama while they for some reason haven't killed Dany despite her chilling in range of the Scorpion thingies?

I'm interested to see where this is going.

The scorpions probably can't be aimed that precisely, and would be slow enough to aim that it would be screamingly obvious what they were doing. Medieval siege weapons aren't actually all that useful on human-sized targets.

Ugh to this episode. Dany is my favorite character, but killing off the one black female character to give a white character more angst? How about no. And killing off another dragon too. Ugh, this season. I'm really hating this season.

JAIME AND BRIENNE ARE CANON! I don't care what happens with anything else on the show. I am also in the camp that Jaime is going back to kill Cersei and pushed Brienne away so she would not follow him.

They did Ghost fucking dirty. Like, Jon couldn't even have given him a pet? I am glad he is going with Tormund. At least Tormund will appreciate him.

I didn't care that the dragon and Missendei died because it was so stupid. How did Dany not see that fucking armada while she was flying? Why did they not send out scouts when they have already been ambushed once??? Why did Dany just fly away? Literally, just fly around behind the ships. Their turning radius is not great.

Why didn't Cersei kill Dany while she was hanging outside the gate? She had those giant crossbows.

So, they have taken away the two people Dany cares most about. She has no support from the people around her. They have killed two of her 'children'. Everyone seems to be keeping secrets from her. AND Missandei's last word was literally a kill command.

Ya think she is gonna go dark side?

Honestly, Dany should just burn the whole place down. Or, go in from the back, burn down the Red Keep and you win. In the long run, the civilians will forget that you killed a bunch of them. Cersei did and they still trust her.

Agreed that Jaime is probably going back with the intent to kill Cersei, but I think she's going to kill him, tbh. Gut feeling.

Dany's descent into madness has been so badly written and completely unsatisfying, I honestly hope she gets taken out too because the whole Mad Queen thing is so boring with her. I don't really care who takes the throne when it's all said and done as long as it's interesting, you know? Though at this point I'm just kind of expecting it to be Jon because they're definitely starting to get into some Hollywood cliches now and he's the Hollywood cliche answer. :/ I hope I'm wrong.

You could write a book on this and the previous episode: Horrible tactical decisions and why you should always use scouts.

It was really obvious that Missandei was going to die, since they started to make beach vacation plans, but this was pretty stupid. They just happened to find her floating in the sea while the others got to the shore?

Ghost is better off without Mr. "I've got a brand new dragon now whoops sorry I don't please Ghost come back".

Jaime better not forget several seasons worth of character development, is all I'm saying.

I'm still hoping Dany doesn't go dark side. Mostly because I don't want Jon on the iron throne. And because she's still my favorite. Killing off Rhaegal and Missandei, though? No. Not cool.

The Iron Fleet is invisible and equipped with teleportation rings. It's very, very clear the writers are using them as a deus ex machina because they have no fucking clue how to keep tension without repeatedly wiping out large chunks of Dany's army with magically appearing ships. Or mind-meltingly idiotic cavalry charges.

aw... I'm also completely on camp Brienne/Jaime and squeed a little as they were building it up, but I couldn't help but felt that the writing was very flaky and juvenile. I just wish there was another way to honor their bond.

So this seems to be going the route of 'take everything Dany loves from her' and she'll either fall and climb out of it or fall and need killing because she'll go too far to be saved.

I want the evil pirate dude to just die already, but he's going to stick around like the bad smell he is.

Honestly Dany should have just burnt the Red Keep to a crisp, there is no negotiating with Cersei and I don't why anyone keeps trying.

I've always been pretty ambivalent to Sansa overall, but I'm kind of here for the set-up they're giving her of "if you don't listen to Sansa, you get fucked over." It's kind of perfect for her role to be this intelligent, looked-over person in the background who's just waiting to see where the pieces fall before she moves. I'm excited to see where they go with it.

I'm really glad that Sansa is one of the few characters they seem to finally be making justice to!!

I am a rollercoaster of emotions, but oddly, I'm disappointed with where Dany's story is going. They really are pushing for this mad queen thing, but I hate that everything they're doing just makes her come off as a petulant brat who huffs and stamps her feet because she didn't get the throne that was promised and nobody wuvs her and that hurts her pwecious fee-fees! Yeah, I get she needs a dose of reality, and if/when the truth about Jon comes out, she'll likely have to give up her claim (despite what Jon promises). She's someone who is getting more and more isolated in a country where she doesn't really know anyone, so she's holding on to the only thing she really has left, and I really think she just needs someone to validate her struggles (and yes, I'm sure someone will point out she has problems validating others'). Instead, she'll probably go apeshit and burn half of King's Landing before someone has the brains to scorpion her crazy ass out. Because haha crazy bitch.
