OP said that they didn't want to be yelled at for liking a movie. That seems fair. Do you have a reason to think that they're interpreting civil criticism and different opinions as a personal attack?

because people rarely get yelled at for saying "i liked this movie", so either they're being hyperbolic (my guess) or overreacting to criticism

I don't think it's so rare. I've seen several people straight up say other people are stupid/have no taste for liking a movie they didn't like (including this one), and I would definitely consider that a personal attack
