for being annoyed when an LJ or DW writer doesn't xpost to AO3, too?
So many LJ/DW journals are just...unreadable to me. Even with style=mine, it's just really difficult.

AO3 is easiest platform for me to read.

Yeah, I only read on AO3 anymore. It is just easiest on the eyes for me.

Yup. Bottom line, do i want an eye-strain headache or not?

I have, however, successfully begged-nagged a few of my favs into finally posting to Ao3. Frabjous day!

I don't even try to read fic that isn't on AO3 anymore. If I'm wrong I don't care. It is the goodest.

It really is! The most goodest.

AO3 is the only place where I read fic, because I can't be bothered to search for the journals of individual writers.

Fortunately, i generally just click their link to the AO3 posting, but now i'm subscribed to so many people, i get lots of email alerts all day, so....

I'm the same. I only read AO3. LJ is too hard to read chaptered fics, and fanfic.net has terrible quality.

YES yes yes.

If a fic rec praises a fic highly, and the synopsis sounds good, and the fic isn't cross-posted on AO3, I will give it a chance on LJ/DW or FF.net. But it's definitely not something I do very often.

I will not even try to read anything on wattpad. I have literally never found anything that was better than barely readable on that site.

I will, too, if that's the only place they post. But omg, it's so hard sometimes, especially when people have tiny little font on weird colors....

I have never read on Wattpad. I just bounced over to look at it. It's....certainly something.

Tweak your settings to show journal entry pages on your chosen site skin. Unless they're an absolute dumbass who has hardcoded their aesthetic decisions in the post itself, it completely gets rid of styling and lets you read on a nice, clean page with your choice of contrast levels.

I have never read on Wattpad. I just bounced over to look at it. It's....certainly something.

Yeahhh. I...try not to shit on it too vocally most of the time, because I'm pretty sure the age demographic is like...ages 8-15? But there were instances in the past where someone recced fics that linked to wattpad, and whenever I gave those fics a chance, they were always barely readable. So now I just refuse to be talked into going there, no matter what the reccer claims.

What drives me crazy is that wattpad seems to let (encourage?) people to add a piece of fanart to their fic as a kind of "cover image," and the custom seems to be to use whatever image you want, and not credit the artist. Which sucks for the artist, obviously, but it's also really annoying because I keep seeing little 1/4 sized fanart images that I like, finding out they're wattpad fic covers, and then not being able to figure out who the actual artist is. Okay, okay, end rant.

Same - if a fic is recommended and linked to by others, I'll give it a read but I don't actively hunt for fics outside of AO3 anymore.

And Wattpad really is awful.

It really seems ...odd. I never knew what it was, before.

I don’t mind people who don’t crosspost fic to AO3 as much as I mind Twitter fanartists who don’t tag their art with the fandom or ship name. If you don’t want anyone to look at your art why did you post it on Twitter??

........I can't imagine posting fanart to Twitter, much less not tagging it somehow. SO WEIRD.

But i see Twitter as a political platform, and it's where I follow tons of Alt-accounts (AltNASA, etc.) and things like Reuters, the ACLU page, Mother Jones, Pro Publica, etc.)

I don't mind if it's an older fandom, SGA era. I use a wayback machine site if it's gone or deleted. Copy - posting to a text file feels like a lot of work since I figured out how to download series from AO3 but it's fine, I can upload it on my Kindle. It's like a treasure hunting.

I need to start downloading from AO3 so i don't lose stuff i really like. It's happened so often in the past!

There are some of the best SGA authors on AO3, yay!

I prefer AO3. Sometimes I'll feel nostalgic and go on FF.net, but I like the search function of AO3 way more.

I think i've read maybe five fics at FF.net in my life. I don't care for it.

I guess I'm a bad person as well. It's way easier to search for fic on AO3 than it is on LJ/DW.
