i will remain forever baffled by ppl who ship something but hate one-half of the ship, that just makes no sense to me and seems like an exercise in being constantly pissed off with something that you're supposed to have fun with.

inspired by a person in one of my fandoms who i've had to block bc she plagues the ship-tag with endless whining about how 'X is a terrible awful ship' 'A is so bad for B, it's aBuSiVe', note: neither character is in any way abusive to the other. She'll also complain about character A not doing X for character B, yet when character A DOES THE THING she wanted them to do she then COMPLAINS ABOUT A DOING IT.

it's absolutely nutty and i wish i could tell her to gtfo, for both her sanity and for the happiness of everyone that just wants to ship our ship in peace.

my only solace is that she gets like 10 notes on a post and it's only ever from the same 5 ppl who are notorious antis of the ship, so obvs will agree with anything that shits on it, but it's still so annoying and tiring to see. especially bc she has a goddamn superiority-complex about being the only fan who ships X who 'see's the truth', no girl, you're just nuts with a hate-boner for one half of the ship.

I HAVE NO IDEA.

but she legit says she ships it she's just 'critical' of it, read: complains about every little thing and then wonders why most of the shippers have her blocked.

but we're 'too weak' to 'handle the truth of X ship' or whatever, sure jan.

Argh, someone in my fandom did this and it drove me nuts. Character A had done some shady shit that caused Character B to temporarily split up with Character A and date Character C.

Cue this person changing their tag for Character B to “Faithless” and, later on, when Character A dated Character D, this person blamed Character D, because nothing Character A did could ever be their fault. Of course, they also shipped Character A with their own thinly veiled self-insert who would never leave or censure Character A no matter how horrifying their actions.

see i WISH this person would just straight-up ship B with an OC bc it's so very clear she wants to, but talking about THAT wouldn't get her any hits at all so she suffers through talking about A/B bc at least she gets some attention on her posts that way.

she's honestly insufferable and i if could i'd nuke her online presence off the web.

I don't understand this either!! How can someone ship a ship and actively hate one half of the ship? It's just... baffling to me.
