I'm meh about it, too, but it didn't take until KH3 for me to realize Nomura is a bad director and writer. I mean, he wasn't the original FF7 director or writer, but he's done the Compilation and the Compilation is just so shitty compared to the original game.

I mean, it looks pretty. I'm sure it'll have a few pretty and nostalgic moments. But I think most of it will either underwhelm me or flat-out piss me off.

I've never understood what's so shitty about the Compilation besides nostalgia blinders. FF7 was fun but it was a ridiculous game that made 0 sense.

Compilation is a game of Telephone in action. Characters were flanderized, plot points were skewed and misinterpreted and flat-out jossed. Of course VII is a ridiculous game, but like... ridiculous or no, you still have to play by the rules that you set? Or it's just stupid.

I mean, I don't think even 7 was very internally consistent, either, is more the point.

Would you mind giving me a few examples? I definitely agree it's convoluted, but I definitely at the least remember it as consistent. I could definitely be remembering wrong, though.
