She's my favorite in the MCU, so I'm glad I didn't see this if that's what happens :/

She had one of the best storylines, I was surprised she had such a big role and that she wasn't killed off since her main motivation was Thanos.

I really wanted Nebula to be the one to kill at least one version of Thanos so I feel this in a way.

But at the same time she was one of the elements I really liked. Her bonding moments with Tony at the start (where she won the game they were playing) were great.

Now you put it that way about her past self though, yeah that kinda sucks.

I liked most of her story honestly, I just really wished she'd actually gotten to kill one version of Thanos herself since her and Gamora are the two who really, really deserved to do the deed. And I was :/ on her killing her past still-abused self, like I was kinda hoping they'd convince that version to rebel, but they gave AR-Gamora that so they could 'fix' the issue of OG-Gamora being dead and gone.

I mean they still could have had past-Nebula die, just let her go out heroically instead! Idk.

Whereas I loved it. I loved the character development we've seen from her, and how well Endgame highlighted and emphasized how much she's grown and how strong she is. I'd never given Nebula a ton of thought in the past, but throughout Endgame I kept being shocked by how complex of a character she actually is and how incredibly admirable her inner strength is. And that was especially true in the scene where she kills her 2014 self, without hesitation, because it's what needs to be done.

Though I will say that I would love for Nebula to have been the one to relieve Peter of the gauntlet instead of Captain Marvel, the way that youtuber Nando v Movies lays it out in his recent video.

I thought she was one of the more forgettable aspects of the first GotG, but then the second film happened and Nebula's now one of my favorite characters in the MCU.

I feel this way, too. I think it was terrible for her 'other' self to die, but I don't think 'our' Nebula was as gutted by it as some are.

I'm right in the same boat as you as far as falling in love with Nebula as a character because of Endgame. Thanks for sharing the Nando v Movies video! It really is a satisfying and fun rework of the Endgame end action sequence which gives Nebula her due.

I liked her in Endgame. I found Nebula killing herself was her coming to face her past. She has spent the 5 years after the snap trying to let go of her past, but in order to undo the horrors that her father set upon the world Nebula had to face her own past and get rid of the part of herself that was still holding onto seeking her father's approval/love/affection. And in Endgame she literally did. She had to go back in time and then come face to face with who she used to be. Also, I will always welcome more time between Nebula and Gamora.

This is how I felt about Nebula killing her past self too. Like it was a way for her to move past things (and, in a way, saving her past self from more pain too).

Plus...you know...they didn't have time to wait around for past!Nebula to decide to join the other side and future!Nebula would know more than anyone what a big effort it was for her to do it in the first place. Especially when you consider past!Nebula had just handed Thanos something Gamora never could have.

Yes yes yes! Nebula is hands-down my absolute favorite character in all of MCU, because that sort of growth was amazing.

Really? I was very happy with her story. I don't think she's going to lose any sleep over saving Gamora's life even though it was tragic.

They never make a case that she would have been capable of taking on Thanos single-handedly and I'm fine with that. Thor's beheading of a very ill Thanos wasn't satisfying to see either because they weren't going for the cliché of someone finally being the biggest badass who could physically take him. She would have probably had to die.

Felt like a mercy kill to me. Also killing your alternate universe self is definitely some kind of trope.

She was amazing, from the very first scene with Tony to the last. And considering she knelt down and closed Thanos' eyes when Thor beheaded him, I don't think she would have actually wanted to be the one to kill him, when faced with the brutal reality of it.

I loved her story from start to end, she is just awesome.

"Making her kill an alternate version of herself" makes it sound like the filmmakers stood there with a gun to her head, making her do something she didn't want. I thought she was great.
