I can't believe people are missing this. The worst are the "but Steve put the Tesseract back!" lot. Yes. In 1970. They still fucked up in 2012. Actually, scratch that...the worst is that one tumblr fan account who keeps posting every day that he's still dead and moaning about it despite the fact they are literally getting a version of him back. The Tesseract steal is such an obvious TV series set up.

I mean, I'm not entirely happy about it because of all the philosophical "is a different time line or reality etc really the same person?" headaches but whatever. Comics have been doing this shit for decades.

My thoughts exactly. They totally left it open for Loki to come back. And that Loki will be the one without all the character development original Loki had. Which may be equal parts frustrating and entertaining depending on what they do with it.
