Yeah? I seem to forget when any of the Avengers sold people into slavery and if Tony or Steve did it — or even Star-Lord — they would never be forgiven.

tony was a literal arms-dealer in his first movie, he has the blood of hundreds, if not thousands, of innocent ppl on his hands. he also didn't care about any of it at all until he got kidnapped.

Being an arms dealer is not the same as kidnapping people and selling them into slavery for death combat. What kind of bullshit false equivalency is that?

They're not equal (as different things often aren't) but they are both bad -- by any metrics, these are morally bankrupt actions. So why is your line for "redeemable" drawn in between them? What's the reasoning for that?

And Drax and Clint dabbled in serial killing disguised as vigilante justice, Yondu and his entire clan of Ravagers were pirates and child traffickers, et cetera forever. I suspect the anon you're arguing with is not arguing in good faith.

There’s a a reason why Yondu had a redemption equals death moment as opposed to joining the Avengers like his actions were nbd.

And killing criminals is not the same as selling innocent people into slavery.

Designating this one backstory to be UNFORGIVABLE is pretty arbitrary all things considered. In modern times, profiting through arms dealing is rather despicable. Invading a conquered world to instigate a slaughter for sport is likely a war crime. But these are just obstacles Tony and Thor must face on their paths to heroism, amirite?

If it isn't clear to you by now, canon is taking the interpretation that she was forced into it and didn't have a choice. She could either do that or be killed, just like the Grandmaster does with everyone who didn't do what he wanted. That may not be your interpretation, but that is the interpretation canon is going with.

There's nothing to suggest that in the movie, especially since she was allowed to go where she wanted.
