Good luck OP!!! Getting a house is both exciting and stressful, but you're getting a house! It's a lot of work, but after some time and most of the major hurdles and stress are done and over with it will all be worth it! I love going to places like Lowe's or Ikea and looking at new things for a home. Getting to actually shop for those things and putting them in a home is even better. It was stressful looking for new carpet that is both nice and within my price range, but I can't lie, I loved looking at the carpet samples. Best of luck OP!

It's exciting but also scary, for sure. We only have a bedroom's worth of furniture. So we get to furnish at least part of a house. TBH this is all with inheritance, so we can afford it, but it's nerve-wracking because I thought I'd be renting forever.

Most furniture can wait, we just REALLY need to furnish our bedroom, a bedroom for a guy we want to room with (he's a good friend in a not-so-good situation), and the kitchen/living area. Anything else can super wait tbh.

That was our approach too. I didn't have a bed frame for about a year, but I had a bed and that was fine with me.
