I always thought it was perfectly understandable that she would end up convincing herself it wasn't real--the same year that Peter went to live with Diggory and Edmund and Lucy went back to Narnia with Eustace, Susan was alone in America with their parents. It didn't seem fair to me that they judged her so harshly when she was the only one who wasn't completely surrounded by Narnia again.

You know, I think you're right. As a kid, it always seemed really strange to me. How do you just forget that something actually happened to you? But growing up and having my own memory issues, that's something that does happen. Memory is a funny thing that way.

That being said, either way, it was terribly written. I usually ignore Last Battle if I decided to reread the Narnia books.
