I still argue that the best idea would have been to make Jon a Targyaren but not legitimate (I mean, Rhaegar had kids with Elia, so annulling the marriage isn't realistic anyway). Dany can't have kids. She gets to be queen, Jon finds some girl and makes babies, and his babies are made Dany's heirs. Everyone's happy.

Sadly, this requires writers to actually use their brains, something which is sorely lacking if this season is anything to go by.

But yes, that's a good way to solve it tbh.

But that would have made actual sense, which is clearly not what the writers were trying to do this season.

Yeah, I found Jon as an illegitimate Targyaren really interesting. The second he was legit, not so much.
