You have to pay for Netflix, too, though, and "watch tv" doesn't just mean "watch cable."

If you live in the US, you own a TV, and you live some place where you can receive over-the-air signals, then you can watch TV for free. Not everything, of course, but there's stuff on broadcast TV that's not available on cable and may only stream on that network/entertainment company's specific streaming service (and to get all of the streaming services these days is like paying for cable anyway). My TV is already there, so why not watch stuff for free?
