If you read MCU fics you'll probably more invested in the characters.

I don’t think that’s necessarily true. I am invested and have read maybe one whole fic in the last 10 years.

I agree with this, though I'd be more likely to say, "If you ship one or more MCU pairings hard enough that you're all up in the fanfic over it, you're probably more invested in the characters."

Like, if you'd asked me any time over the past several years, I would've said I lowkey ship Stucky. But I wasn't all up in the fanfic over it. And my caring level was at, like, a 4 maximum. Then I finally did start shipping an MCU pairing for real, like three months ago, and oh man, suddenly it's like, WhErE DiD AlL ThEsE FeElInGs CoMe FrOm?!!

That said, I also respect that some people aren't In It For The Shipping, and that shipping like a fiend isn't the only way of being deeply invested in a story.

Why would people read fic for characters they don't already feel any investment in? There's no need to force the feelings. There's plenty of other stuff to be invested in, instead.

The more I think about this movie the less I like it and the more annoyed I become.
