The BBC really dropped the ball on this one. I only saw a few minutes but the writing and acting were so bad and Cosette's wig wasn't blonde, it was yellow and looked fake as hell. Why did they bother making it in the first place? How many versions of this story do we need?

I didn't watch any of it because I agree, we don't need any more versions of this story. Glad I didn't now that I hear nothing good about it.

I'm convinced that there is one singular "wig anon" who constantly mentions how "bad" characters' "wigs" are. I've never, ever been able to tell that an actor was wearing a wig. If they do, they're clearly good enough that I don't believe they actually do. It seems so ridiculous to me that I feel like it has to be just one person going on about it.

Hey it's me, OP. I've never submitted another secret about a wig.

All this means is that your wig detector is faulty, not that I and other wig complainers are wrong.

LOL... Well, I'm one of the anons who's probably mentioned it. I don't think all wigs are bad - Amber Heard in Aquaman isn't that bad, IMO. But some are just kind of terrible, like Loki's wig in MCU after a certain point.

Amber's wig looked fake to me, but that was okay for that role because it just made her look alien, which is what they were going for I think.

"wig anon" lmao

I'm almost with you. I can very rarely tell when someone is wearing a poor wig.

The big exception to that was Destroyer. God.

I am a different anon who hated the red wig on Amber Heard's head. There are at least two of us.

I think some people are just more detail oriented when it comes to visual appearance. Like, I'm one of those people who could spend all day with someone and then you could ask me to describe them and I wouldn't be able to describe them AT ALL. But the flip side is, I always notice things like wigs, very minor weight gain/loss, very minor filler or other cosmetic procedures, etc.

Nope.

I'm another anon who sometimes thinks wigs are terrible. I don't watch Game of Thrones, but every time I see Lena Headey in her character, I think her wig looks awful. And I don't think all of Black Widows wigs have been bad, but some of them have. Watch the Red Sparrow trailer and if you don't see anything there, it may just not be something that you notice, at all.

Man, this. Every time it comes up that 'so and so's wig was so awful' i'm left going....huh?

The funny thing is, some wig complaints (like - Sebastian Stan in CW?) THAT'S HIS ACTUAL HAIR, HE SAID SO!

Honestly same, I could barely stand more than a few minutes of the show. The acting was so bad, bleh.

I have heard nothing good about this series

I don't understand the resistance to several adaptations of an extremely rich multi-faceted work, scenes of which have still never been adapted despite there being so many because there are so many different angles.

What we "need" is a good modern day retelling that shows how the themes transplant pretty easily into current race and class struggles and the suppressive prison system.

I have no particular opinions on Les Miserables, but my general opinion is that more adaptations = good since they will all be a bit different and that gives more people a chance to find one they like.

until they get it RIGHT
