I feel like the existence of magic would probably require us to rethink some conclusions about empiricism and science though. How do we know the Phoenix evolved into existence the same way birds did?

Cats can interbreed with crups, for one thing. Magical and non-magical animals in HP verse clearly have some common biology. Fire is also older than all of earth, so unless someone can show me evidence of space phoenixes, I will maintain my pedantry.
