I'm anemic, so my periods are really light, flow-wise. It's usually pantyliners for the first and second day, and a pad a day and one at night for the next 2 days, then more pantyliners till it's over. I still get the same godawful cramps and period symptoms as I did when my hemoglobin levels were higher, though.

It's never been like "gushing" for me. Bodies usually push out the menstrual lining in spurts, so you get clots and heavier mucus bits along with hours where nothing comes out. At least for me.

I know some other people have much heavier flows.
