NAYRT - I feel the same way, and it's weird. For some reason on women red hair tends to look very bold and strong, but on most men the effect is almost the opposite. (Not that red-headed men can't be hotties, but like, the red hair itself is not what I would call a lewk.)

Natural redhead here. I have Kate Winslet's exact colouring in titanic, even without makeup. Obviously not in anyway as beautiful as her though.

I love her look in that film. I think I was one of the only 12 year old girl in the late 90s more bothered about Kate's hair and costumes Vs the existence of Leo. My husband on the other hand was a self-confessed typical 12 year old boy in the late 90s and went to see the film twice because he wanted to see boobs.

I'm sure I read that Kate got a complex about that film because people considered her overweight? I'm like...HOW?!

Aaahhh, I was just looking at the pic of her in the secret and thinking she looks SO skinny! I'd kill to have a waist like that. <3

Given a later scene in the movie, I suspect corsets were involved (and having tried to wear one once, would not recommend). Compare her look in some of her formal dresses to the one she wears during the sinking, which she put on herself and therefore wouldn't have had a corset;

Still not fat by any stretch, though. Whoever said that about her was being a jerk and/or buying into typical Hollywood beauty standards.

I don't think Kate Winslet was even remotely over weight, but I do think she has a natural appearance of roundness to her. Her face, her limbs, all of her features have a naturally soft, pillowy quality to them, which can come across as "plump" to people who are kind of snobbish about such things (even though she was not plump at all). It was a great look for the movie, though, because that doll-like roundedness seems to have been very much the fashion of the time. If she'd been lean and angular she probably would've been regarded as gaunt and somewhat sickly looking for the era.

Plump? That's just batshit insane. I always thought she had a stunningly beautiful figure in that film with or without corsets. Hollywood is fucked up and I hate that it perpetrates such a warped idea of what women's bodies should look like.
