OP here. (Someone did my comment as a secret - nice!)

- they were both desert rats;
- Anakin was a virgin birth; Rey comes from no lineage;
- Rey has an unnerving amount of natural skill *and* an affinity for the Dark Side, according to the trials she did with Luke - sure, she might just be talented, but being an old soul would also account for that;
- I enjoy the circularity.

As far as I know it isn't popular. I just like it.

This is one of my semi-secret wishes for Rey too, to be honest.

From my perspective, they appeared to actually do a lot with her to mirror her with Anakin...including some of the way we see her fight at the end of TFA against Kylo Ren.
