Did Jon go Crazypants McGee?

No idea, haven't watched it yet, only spoilers. I found him boring anyway.

Tyrion for King!

DA - Don't know the actual answer since I stopped watching somewhere around season 3 or 4, but I'd say there's a bit of a difference in his case since he is half Stark while she is 100% Targaryen.

Nope, he just lost his character arc and got all sad.

But don't you know, The Stark Blood cancels out the Targaryen blood. Only the Starks are good. Everyone else is evil.

Daenerys had suffered way more trauma during her life than Jon and that eventually took its toll.

I could have bought that, if they'd actually shown the development on screen. But they didn't. She just suddenly was okay with murdering civilians with no build up and no real explanation.

Daenerys had a lot of trauma, and what she used to cope with it was an unwavering belief in her destiny. When she finally got to Westeros and the reality of a kingdom that didn't care about her (or actively opposed her) clashed with her beliefs, it was destabilizing. And then the loses Daenerys suffered took away two of her dragons and left her with no advisors that she trusted. Everyone was an enemy. In Meereen, the liberated people burst from their homes, chanting "mother" and holding her aloft, recognizing her greatness. In King's Landing, they stayed in their homes when the bells rang.

Jon had no traumatic experiences in his childhood that were remotely comparable to Daenerys', nor any lofty expectations for his destiny. I don't think you really can compare them as Targaryens.

This is kinda really gross as it implies all rape and abuse victims are ticking time bombs.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-21 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry that I implied that. I was specifically referring to Daenerys in comparison to Jon.

It's not Stark blood, it's any non-Targaryen blood to dilute the crazy, you moron.
