Yes. It took awhile to get the hang of it but I finally did and can use them expertly now.

I'm left handed and have known how to use them since I was a little kid and nobody has ever reacted badly to me doing this (and I was born in Japan)

I'm entirely comfortable with them, but I'm not proficient to the point that some Asian people are, where they can effortlessly eat even the most slippery rice with chopsticks. When I'm eating rice and I get down towards the bottom of the dish, I switch to a fork/spoon.

Nope, but I blame my weird bendy fingers. I can't hold a pen correctly either.

Yup! I have a nice set I use at home all the time.

Yes, though I'm much better with meat, vegetables, or fruit than I am with rice or noodles. It took a lot of practice as I'm not the most coordinated person.

I can if I have to, but I'm not familiar with the finer points of asian eating etiquette.

I can't use chopsticks well either. I can pick up a few small pieces of food but the sticks always screw up.

Not very well. Even after I was in Japan for a few months, I still can't use them right.
