He has a long history of stuffing his foot in his mouth, basically. He's very insulting to people and just kind of... has this blinding aura of jerkiness and "I'm definitely better than you, and it's your fault if you get offended by the shit I say." Which, like... all right, that's certainly a take you're allowed to put out there, but it doesn't exactly endear you to people.
