Um, no. Dude. I'm 28 and a literature PhD. I have read more widely than everyone I've met outside academia. I agree that Twilight sucks. I have no desire to read the other two series up there so can't say if they're any good because I won't pass judgment on anything I haven't read. (The fact that I don't want to read them does mean I think they look bad.)
BUT. There is also a lot of YA out there that's good. There's a lot of interesting things going on in YA. Wicked Lovely was a terribly good book, and I'd like to force everyone who read Twilight to read Wicked Lovely as an example of doing it *right*. Scott Westerfield, Tamora Pierce, and Dianna Wynne Jones are all *brilliant* contemporary YA authors.
