You do you, but those parts of the MR always make me pull a face and go 'ewwww nooooooo' but I'm not good with undead/living couples AT ALL, lmao.

I still like both their characters though, and their relationship is pretty fun in a 'badass evil power-couple' way even if it doesn't last all the way until the end.

On the one hand, he's significantly more interesting to look at as a mummy (sorry Arnold), in a 'cool undead' sort of way, so I will give you that part, but on the other hand, I'm not kissing anyone who looks like pieces of them might flake off in the process. Unless all your bits are rigorously attached and unlikely to literally fall apart in intimate situations, sorry honey, we ain't doing it. We can do the 'romance for the ages' and the 'vengeance and apocalypse on our enemies' parts, absolutely no problem, but the rest will have to wait until you've got all your organs back and safely under some fully intact skin where they belong.

Any time I watch the first two Mummy films I'm struck by how a lot of the special effects just weren't *quite* there yet, especially the in-between not quite living but not fully dead and rotting state of Imhotep.

Know that's now what you're talking about op but even leaving aside the "eww he's rotting" thoughts I just can't get over the "these computer effects are a little lame" aspect myself.

I was a teen when these films came out though so I have such nostalgia for them, I love them. So you do you if this is the thing that gets you interested.

I always wish it had been Evie who was taken to Egypt by Imhotep and Meela, and not the annoying kid. It would have made for a much more interesting dynamics.
