One victim’s trauma is dealt with in one of Bujold’s books, but eventually she’s reconciled to her child’s existence after killing her rapist, but at first she can’t even look at her child. I doubt I’d ever even get that far.

Which is *an* answer to the problem of what to do with the children, but I don't personally feel that I'd be okay with a kid that was half mine raised by a rapist.
(In the book they got lucky - the military administration had changed, and the kids were raised in a much nicer situation than what had engendered them. But it's a situation where there isn't any *right* answer, so.)
